What is it about teenagers and parents that we just get driven nuts by each other? You go into their room mind you it's already 10:15am and tell them you have plans they need to get up. 10:30, still not up go back in there, tell them again....11:00 rolls around, still not up. By this time you are going WTF, when are you going to wake up? Slowly wakes up....says sorry, I keep falling back asleep, finally gets in the shower at 11:15. Change of plans you will not be at your desired location by 11:30a.m., perhaps 12:30?
My son last night asks if his friend can spend the night, I say sure no problem. Midnight comes around they have just made a trip to Mickey D's and still not home. Demand that he comes home and I hear several voices in the living room - now there are three friends spending the night. Come to find out, this has most likely been planned all along! Just tell me the frickin' truth! I am easy to get along with, but don't ask my ex-husband, LOL.
Now that my daughter is 16, she talks on the phone constantly to someone behind closed doors (I suppose I am not to hear the conversation) probably a boy. It is like I am not even here most of the time, unless if either child needs money, food, or a ride to go somewhere or to borrow the car. Taxicab driver, bank, cook is what you become!
My son does not tell me goodnight any longer, just goes to bed - the first time it happened it crushed me, now I just take it in stride. He does not speak when he gets up in the morning either, like I am not even there, hmmmm I wonder who he gets that from because I am definitely a morning person. Oh and he does not tell me goodbye when he gets dropped off to school either. I still tell him goodbye and I love him, and to have a good day (learn something). He still hears it which is the main thing!
Here we go three more days until I don't have any more work to do at all! So I will find something else soon I am sure. See ya! Kim
